Sunday Worship

Today I got the opportunity to lead worship at church and it was an awesome time. We kicked it a little bit old school. We played I'll fly away, Down in the River, Rock of Ages, and Because of Your Love. They all went pretty well and it seemed as though the congregation enjoyed it as well. I am grateful for the chance to be able to use my talents for the glory of the Lord it is truly a blessing.

Paranormal Activity 2

Last night around about 10:30 t-batts and I decided that we wanted to go see paranormal activity @ at midnight. So we did and we got chancen and a couple other people to go. We had about twenty minutes to make a trip that usually takes about thirty-five. Needless to say with some skill we got there right on time and right before they completely sold out. Before the movie began the girl beside me said, "I guess i should go to the bathroom now so I don't pee on myself during the movie." That was classic. The movie itself was pretty creepy but as much as I was intently watching the movie I was also watching the crowd. Just to see the reactions and faces of some people in the theater is priceless. The movie was pretty scary no joke, and I don't recommend it to those who have a weak mind. I am just glad that I serve a risen Saviour who protects me. One thing that always gets me is where it says in the bible that demons tremble at the name of Jesus Christ. That let's me know my God is above all and controls everything. Overall it was a good night and I enjoyed spending time with some of the people from school. Watch the trailer!

Everlasting Life

It was Your grace that set me free.

You sent Your Son to us,

The only answer to my plea,

He came down to save us.

You gave it as a simple gift,

It’s one that lasts for’er.

And all it takes is just a shift,

It is now or never.

I can’t do this all on my own.

You are here beside me,

To set me straight on the path home.

The place where all are free.

O, Jesus take each part of me.

I give it all to You.

I now know that I can be free,

You died to make me new.

Radical

So I decided to re-read radical by david platt for a few reasons. One we are doing a study on it in the new college bible study on sunday mornings and two I wanted to refresh my memory on the book. So far I have read 40 pages and once again it is kicking my tail. The stories that platt shares never cease to amaze me. While reading this book last night I began to realize once again how wrong almost all christians are in their faith. We continue to worship the American Jesus and not the Jesus that was written about in the Gospel. It's sad. I hope through my second experience of reading this book that my life will be even more radically changed than it was before.

17th

This past weekend was a solid weekend. Friday I went to my High School's football homecoming in which they crushed the opponent. Saturday I went out to a rest area and gave out free coffee while sharing the gospel. It was a great opportunity to share the love of Christ with those who are always on the road. That night I was the sound guy for a group named Glendalough in which I got to see my girlfriend sing as well as receive an incredible meal at the crown plaza. That night I got to babysit one of my most favorite kids Aidan. We danced made tattoos and many other things it was a great time. Sunday morning came and I got the chance to do one song in the service, I chose In Christ Alone and I must say it went pretty well. All the glory to God for a great weekend!

Luke 17-24

I just finished reading Luke chapters 17-24 and I must say that the story of Jesus and His crucifixion and resurrection always get me. I can't believe that Herod and Pilate found Jesus innocent and found no reason to crucify Him but fulfilled the people's request. The people were saying that He had corrupted the land and that He was blaspheming. How could you not believe that He was the son of God if they saw Him do miraculous things every single day. That is just outlandish to me. The disrespect of the Son of God back then just never ceases to amaze me. If you think about it we still disrespect Him as much now as back then. We go to church and worship (if you can call it that) like we are serving a dead God. We put our hope in worldy things and not in that of Jesus. I am guilty of it and it is very hard to give it all up. Needless to say my eyes have been opened. I can't wait until the day that Jesus comes and fulfills His promise. My most favorite part of this story in Luke is the part where Jesus meets the two women on the road to Emmaus and asks them what they are talking about pretty much just playing around with them. They tell Him the story of Him which is funny to me. Then they tell Him that He should come back with them and once they get to their house they sit down to eat. A beautiful picture happens here, Jesus breaks the bread at the table and the eyes of the women are open and they weep no more. They see that it is Jesus and they immediately go and tell the disciples. That is a sweet story Jesus at the Lord's supper broke bread saying it was His body and to do it in remembrance of Him. I.E. breaking the bread at the table made the women realize it was Jesus. mmm Beautiful picture. Thank you Jesus for all that you have done.

O Romans

"For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6:14

North Greenville

It is hard to believe that fall break has already come and gone in my sophomore year here and NGU. It has been amazing to see the changes that God has made in my life personally as well as the people around me. I look forward to each and every day to see what God has in store for me and my friends. Recently God showed me that I need to make Him number one in my life which is very difficult so from now on I am going to try my hardest to put Him first in everything that I do.
